Wyzowl surveys 570 unique respondents in December 2017 and found that video marketing was going to be even more prominent in 2018 for both marketers and consumers. Here are some of the stats from that study:
Video marketing is growing exponentially:
What does this mean for marketers?
First, if you are not using video marketing, you are already behind in the race. The fact that 81% of businesses are using video marketing, a number is only increasing, is evidence that it’s worth the investment. To further make the point, nearly every single marketer who currently invests in video marketing will continue to do so this year. This goes to show how viable video marketing can be to your overall strategy.
Here is what we don’t see in the stats, but still need to take into consideration. Video marketing is no different than any other marketing strategy, in that the quality and skills matter. The most successful video marketing takes into consideration both the end viewer (target audience) and the platform or medium such as social media, Video Brochures, YouTube, websites, etc. Most importantly, every video should focus on a single purpose or desired outcome so there is no confusion on the viewers part as to what you want them to do having watched your video.
Video marketing rarely achieves viral status.
Those that do experience a short-lived boost in website visits from mostly low quality leads and struggle to ever repeat the success. Because viral video is fickle, we strongly suggest you approach video marketing with the end in mind. Videos done right can be gifts that keep on giving. That’s why we focus on producing the best of both viral potential videos and hitting the bullseye or end goal with our science-backed approach to storytelling films.
